Food plays an important and profound role in our daily lives and affects us in ways we may not even realize. For that reason, I take a non-diet approach to nutrition that is based on Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® (HAES).
My interest in nutrition had always been a large part of my life although it took me years to realize it. The moment I found out I could actually follow my passion, I went on to obtain my Masters of Human Nutrition and changed careers. Since then, I have worked in various settings including helping collegiate athletes maximize their performance and working with low income populations in disease management. In every job I have witnessed the impact that food has on our mental and physical health; and on our lives.  This impact is such an important one, and I love having the opportunity to improve people’s relationship with food.
While I continue to work with clients who have a variety of diagnoses, I now focus on those who struggle with their relationship with food and/or those who have eating disorders. I join clients on their journey as they make peace with food as well as their body.  I provide guidance and support through nutrition knowledge. I am also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (previously CDE) and use this to help my clients find balance without focusing on the number on the scale.
When not working, I enjoy traveling with my family and being outside in the beauty that nature offers us. My other interests include making crafts from reupholstering furniture found in thrift stores to sewing with fabrics I’ve picked up while traveling. I also spend a significant amount of time in the kitchen whipping up new recipes even though I find it impossible to completely follow their instructions.
My pronouns are she/her.
