Lauren Weeks
“I feel honored that clients allow me to walk alongside them on their journey away from diet culture.”
I have been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2013 after graduating from the University of Alabama with my bachelor’s and master’s degree in nutrition.
I grew up in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. When I went to college I wanted to work in a creative field but after trying out a few classes, realized how much I missed science and wanting to help people directly. After working closely with my advisors, I decided that nutrition was the best path for me. With a background as a dancer, lacrosse player, and being a part of a large family with many celebrations, it didn’t take me long to realize that food has been a very present part of my life and I connected with my field very quickly.
I have worked in various settings over the last 11 years since becoming a Registered Dietitian from working in hospitals, teaching nutrition classes, and educating clients 1-on-1 in the rehabilitation setting to name a few. What I love about the private practice setting is being able to support my clients over a long period of time. I enjoy seeing my clients come back with new perspectives and support their journey as they build a new relationship with food and their body. I have a passion for helping my clients learn their connection to food and the role it plays in their lives. Shining a light on the impact that diet culture has had on us as individuals.
Outside of work, you can find me coaching lacrosse, reading a book, or spending time with my family. I am married with two wonderful daughters and two energetic dogs. I love all things creative and books, so it’s not unusual to see me embroidering a sweatshirt or in a corner reading a book. I absolutely LOVE to bake and try making new recipes with my girls. And I am my best self when the weather gets cold—sweater weather, please.
My pronouns are she/her.
